HEALTH PROMOTES THE ECONOMY
AND CONTRIBUTES TO JUSTICE
Improving the global health system is critical to promoting overall health, improving quality of life, and increasing resilience to health crises. Here are some key strategies for improving the global health system:
1. INCREASE ACCESS TO HEALTH SERVICES
-
Invest in building and upgrading hospitals, clinics and health centers, especially in rural and underserved areas.
-
Use mobile clinics and telemedicine to provide access to health services in remote areas.
-
Ensure that health services are accessible and affordable for all, including the elimination of user fees for basic health services.
2. TRAIN AND SUPPORT HEALTH WORKERS
-
Invest in the education and training of health workers, including doctors, nurses and midwives.
-
Improve working conditions and provide incentives to attract and retain qualified health workers, especially in rural and disadvantaged areas.
-
Promote the exchange of knowledge and skills through international partnerships and training programs.
3. STRENGTHEN PRIMARY CARE
-
Develop and implement health promotion and disease prevention programs to prevent the onset of disease.
-
Promote integrated primary care that provides comprehensive and coordinated health services, including chronic disease management and health promotion.
-
Support and train community health workers to improve and expand health services at the local level.
-
Ensure that all people, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity or socioeconomic status, have equitable access to health services.
-
Address the social determinants of health, such as poverty, education, and housing, to reduce health disparities.
-
Develop and implement contingency plans and capacity to respond to health crises, including pandemics, natural disasters and other emergencies.
-
Promote international cooperation and support through global health organizations and networks to respond collectively to health crises.
4. ENSURE SUSTAINABLE HEALTH FINANCING
-
Promote universal health coverage to ensure that all people have access to the health services they need without financial hardship.
-
Increase government spending on health and use international aid programs to support health financing in developing countries.
-
Ensure efficient and transparent use of health resources to eliminate waste and maximize effectiveness.
5. HEALTH INFORMATION AND SURVEILLANCE
-
Establish and improve health systems to collect and analyze health data to make informed decisions and improve the quality of health services.
-
Develop and implement systems to monitor and respond rapidly to disease outbreaks and health crises.
-
Promote health research and innovation to develop and implement new treatments and technologies.

By implementing these strategies, the global health system can be strengthened and improved to provide access to quality health services for all and to promote health and well-being worldwide.
